Imagine the sounds of old-school soul blended with innovative contemporary music laced with the uncompromising message of Love. This unique musical amalgamation defines the distinctive sound of Joint Heirs. Romans 8:17 speaks of the Children of God being heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. It is on this belief that Joint Heirs is founded. From Nashville, TN this music ministry, anointed by God and brought forth as a labor of love is comprised of Darcey Stewart and Moiba Mustapha, two young men who seek God in all they do.
In a time where TRUTH is often watered down in music, Darcey and Moiba have been blessed with a fervent desire to use their gifts to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in song. Though the sound is definitely an attention grabber from the first baseline to the last chord, it is undoubtedly the unwavering message delivered in the lyrics that lingers and is able to strengthen and encourage any listener.
Joint Heirs has lent their talents to many Gospel music projects from the industry’s most talented and respected. Joint Heirs has written, produced and performed on projects by CeCe Winans, Smokie Norful, Bobby Jones, Karen Clark-Sheard, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Maurette Brown Clark, Beverly Crawford, The Williams Brothers, Vicki Winans, Melinda Doolittle and many more. It is in perfect time that Joint Heirs steps forward into the Christian music industry as instruments reaching the hearts and minds of young and old, inside and outside the church.
The Solution is the debut national release for Joint Heirs. The Solution encompasses Joint Heirs’ innovative, funky compositions and proverbial smooth lyrics. “One of my favorite songs on this project is ‘God’s Got It’ because it speaks to the person who is going through something that seems unbearable,” Darcey states. “This song points the individual in the direction of TRUE help, the accurate solution, the resolve.”
“Wait”, the groups hit radio single, personifies the heartbeat of summer sounds and is a steppers delight. “All My Needs” is classic soul reminiscent of the O’Jays pioneering vocal arrangements and luxuriant strings intertwined with a contemporary funk groove. “I believe soul music stands the test of time,” says Moiba. “It sticks to you and resonates in your soul and it’s our hope that our songs of strength and healing will have that kind of lasting power.”
Darcey, Minister of Music at Priest Lake Community Baptist Church in Nashville, TN and Moiba, Assistant Choir Director at the same church, both wrote and produced all tracks on The Solution. Darcey and Moiba have persistently developed their craft, as it is masterfully evident on this release. Both grew up listening to old school soul and funk, a little bit of rock and roll and reggae and a daily dose of R&B and Hip Hop.
